Testimonial for Rose City BNI

To re-tell my story about my experience with the Rose City BNI networking group, is a daunting task.  You see the story really starts over 10 yrs ago when Norwich had a BNI chapter, and I was member at that time. During my time with the original Norwich chapter, I forged relationships with many diverse business owners and employees. These relationships have over the last decade brought in hundreds of thousands of revenue, but more importantly the personal friendships proved to be priceless. Due to a change of business direction I left that group after 3 years and eventually the group disbanded.

Fast forward to November of 06 and I meet Jim O‘Shea. He informs me that a new group is trying to form in Norwich. It took several months but we were finally able to charter in April of 07. Let me tell you, trying to hit that magical number of 20 diverse business owners to buy into “GIVERS GAIN” is not as easy as it sounds, but we were able to do it.

Since that time we moved where we held the meetings 4 times.  A few members have come and gone, but through it all I have to say that the most rewarding aspect of being the chapter President of a very energetic and dynamic group that is now north of 50 members, is just that. The members. Without them, their hard work, undying efforts to grow and expand our spheres of influence, we would never have grown to the size that we currently are.

I have the knowledge and confidence that our members are not only competent in what they do, but also that we are a caring group. The members will at the drop of a pin, do whatever they can to help another member. Whether it be a referral, business advice, business opportunities or just a shoulder to cry on.

Our meetings are always fun, educational and end on time. Well maybe 2 out of 3. I personally have a management team I can turn to, ask advice or find a companion to take in a show.

Without a doubt, Rose City BNI is the best investment that I have made for marketing my business. To know that I have 50+ people actively looking for referrals for me everyday gives me great peace of mind, and when the referral portion of the meeting comes around, it is so exciting when a member stands and says that he or she has a referral for me.

It has also opened my eyes and has me thinking of new ways to grow my business. Forging new business alliances and strategic partnerships with other members.  

If you get a chance to stop by and take in one of our meetings, or go to another area chapter that has an open classification, by all means take it. Open yourself up to what quite possibly may be the best marketing/ business management decisions that you could ever make.
